We re looking for a Professional Geologist licensed in the state of Maine (at a minimum) with at least 5 years of experience to join our practice in Maine, New Hampshire or Massachusetts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fieldwork such as soil, surface water, groundwater and vapor intrusion sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Conceptual site model development for a diverse array of Sites;
  • Project management including, technical, schedule, budget, and personnel management;
  • Groundwater, soil, and air remedy evaluation, cost estimation, and implementation;
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, which will be paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 50%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor s degree in geology, hydrogeology, or environmental engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology, hydrogeology, or environmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Professional Geologist (PG) registration in the state of Maine (required or the ability to obtain within 6 months)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Project experience involving environmental data analysis and conceptual site modeling. (required)
  • An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership. (preferred)
  • Experience working on geologically complex Sites with various contaminated media. (preferred)
  • Experience implementing a variety of remediation technologies. (preferred)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
