The Geologic Advisor for APA Corporation will be a member of the Suriname Appraisal Team located in the Houston, Texas office and reporting to the Director of Geology.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
Fully characterize appraisal opportunities within the APA’s position in Suriname Blocks 58&53;
Integrate geological, geophysical and petrophysical data into reservoir descriptions and geomodeling;
Assess appraisal opportunities and mature into well proposals;
Partner with Exploration counterparts to ensure that appraisal learnings and interpretations are integrated into Exploration evaluations;
Partner with Reservoir Engineering counterparts to ensure fit for purpose static and dynamic models; and
Planning and executing appraisal wells and providing post-drill lookbacks. Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Minimum 15 years oil and gas experience with an M.S. degree in Geology
Experience in Appraisal/Development of deepwater reservoirs
Strong seismic interpreter with focus on seismic stratigraphy
Sed/Strat expertise in deepwater depositional systems applied towards reservoir characterization of facies distribution and reservoir quality
Experience in defining data collection and evaluation programs for rock (core, cuttings) & fluid data and the interpretation and integration of results.
Experience in core and image log description
Advanced in Petrel Geomodeling and integration of geologic, geophysical, and petrophysical data to create static models for reservoir simulation
Experience with probabilistic volumetric and risk assessments
Excellent communication skills – presentation experience to management and JV partners; effectively communicates work procedures to relevant personnel
Excellent project management skills; mature and professional attitude
Experience with the below software applications is preferred:
Communication: Writes, speaks, and presents information effectively and persuasively across communication setting;
Results: Pursues work with energy, drive, and results orientation to positively impact Apache's business success;
Collaboration: Works in partnership with others and encourages different perspectives, while building and maintaining trust; and
