Urban Air, Wellington is looking for an experienced General Manager!

Job Description: An Urban Air General Manager is responsible for all facets of the operation and responsible for the long-term planning to ensure continued growth and success of the business. Required competencies may include, excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of business functions, exceptional budgeting, and finance skills, and strong leadership skills. The candidate must be someone who has the desire to successfully run, grow and develop the business, as well as effectively manage, coach, motivate, develop and direct their team of nearly (30) team members.

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following;

General Duties and Responsibilities:

· Improving the sales, profitability, and performance of the business year over year

o Compliance with all operating and quality standards.

o Ensures positive Guest relations and recovery program.

o Compliance with all operating and cost control tools.

o Creates/approves all weekly sales projections and team member schedules.

· Maintaining the team member development cycle: Hiring of quality staff, ensuring effective training, testing, and certification of team members with timely and thorough team member performance appraisals.

· Ensuring a harassment-free work environment. Also providing a safe and confidential reporting process.

· Overseeing an effective and legal progressive discipline program.

· Ensuring that team member benefits are properly administered.

· Spearheading annual budgeting of capital expenditures and business planning process.

· Maintaining the physical equipment in a like-new condition.

· Maintaining effective communications with the Sales Department.

· Operating of the facility and addressing safety/security concerns as necessary.

o Serve Safe Food Program compliance.

Job Activities:

Overss daily operations of the venue

· Development of management staff through delegation, training, and follow-up.

· Facilitates management meetings and ensures transitional meetings are completed and ensures labor goals for each shift.

· Proactively manages all activities that affect the revenue, COGS, and guest experience

· Ensures the Daily Essential operating procedures are being completed consistently and correctly.

· Manages all line items above EBITDAR on the P&L and ensures compliance with all cost control systems.

· Oversees team member recruitment, hiring, development, training, accountability, and progressive discipline and discharge.

· Ensures problem resolution and implementation of corrective actions.

· Leads guest recovery program. Assists on the floor when and where necessary to ensure a positive Guest experience.

· Interacts with Guests and ensures Guest exceptional service standards are met.

· Maintains a harassment-free work environment.

Skills/Experience:

· Minimum of 5 years proven experience in Restaurant/Bar/Nightclub Management as a General Manager or Director-Level

· Experience in a high-volume setting

· Results driven individual with a demonstrated record of prior success

· Excellent interpersonal skills with guests and team members

· Strong leadership qualities

· Excellent communication skills

· Highly organized and strong work ethic

Additional Requirements:

· Must be available to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

· Must be able and willing to stand or walk for up to 10-hour shifts

· Must be able to speak, read and comprehend English

· Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

· Reliable transportation

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE :

PEOPLE

  • Hire, train, and provide mentorship to the staff to further develop their skills
  • Cultivate a team environment that provides exceptional customer service
  • Implements and executes all staff training programs
  • Assist in selecting and developing Area Leads and Certified Trainers for more responsibility or internal promotability
  • Leads and influences management staff through effective motivation, leveraging individual strengths to ensure maximum productivity
  • Ensures execution of all employee recognition and incentive programs as documented
  • Maintain a strong community presence through partnership with community and business organizations

OPERATIONS

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment for all guests and staff
  • Responsible for all aspects of the operation including entertainment, food, beverage, attractions, and property to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and company initiatives
  • Continuously improve operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to operating standards and philosophies
  • Provide direction to the management team and ensure all staff members perform at a consistently high level
  • Promotes positive employee relations including effective delegation of managerial duties, fostering high staff morale, upholding operation standards
  • Assist owners with setting goals and hold managers accountable for setting and meeting departmental goals
  • Monitor online reviews to ensure we are consistently meeting the standard for the guest or improving their experience

FINANCIALS

  • Capitalize business opportunities in the market area by executing company marketing strategies to drive sales
  • Maintain systems which ensure overall fiscal responsibility for inventory control, including pars and proper ordering
  • Assures staffing levels and management coverage is appropriate to maximize the customer experience while maintaining the labor budget for the business
  • Analyze financial reports and develops action plans to grow revenue and control expenses to meet or exceed annual budgets

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to enthusiastically interact with others
  • Strong character and exercises good judgement in decision making
  • Experience in hospitality required: Theme Parks, Family Entertainment Centers, Hotels, Resorts, Casinos, or Restaurants
  • 3+ years experience in Facility Operations & Management Required
  • Demonstrated ability in developing team members in areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve expected store financial results in areas of responsibility
  • Must be professional, energetic, self-motivated, and able to motivate others, and have a positive attitude
  • Intermediate computer skills - Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Professional grooming and conduct must be constantly displayed
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and general enthusiasm for the business
  • Strong communication skills; ability to write and verbally communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to establish working relationships with all employees, management, and vendors
  • Ability to maintain and project professionalism, internally and externally, at all times
  • Can create and communicate a vision for the park
  • Flexible in approach; can readily adapt to business and team needs and changes
  • Holds self-accountable for high personal standards of conduct and professionalism
  • Appreciation of diversity (thought, ethnic, gender, etc.)
