Major Goals & Purpose

We are currently accepting applications for General Maintenance Techs / General Carpenters advancing their construction careers. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices. General Maintenance Techs / General Carpenters should have a comprehensive understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, and materials.

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will physically repair homes within a given submarket. Working with small teams and independently, they will respond to all assigned maintenance requests and ensure that they are resolved in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of customer service and protecting company assets. The Maintenance Technician will require driving to properties within the applicable market to address maintenance issues using their own personal tools. Large tools and equipment are provided by the company.

Job Responsibilities

• General construction including framing, finishing, and painting.
• Building inspection and maintenance including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Assembly and installation of furniture, appliances, and fixtures.
• Responsible for scheduling daily workloads and insuring work is completed on time and at acceptable workmanship standards.
• Basic understanding of local and national building codes.
• Skilled in the areas of framing and finish carpentry with metal and wood studs.
• Takes responsibility for own actions and monitors personal performance
• An aptitude for painting, basic plumbing and electrical
• The ability to accept and implement job responsibilities accurately, prioritize workload and adjust schedule as needed.
• The ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
• The ability to prioritize work, be flexible, work cooperatively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• The ability to follow proper safety, lifting, pushing, pulling, sanitation, exposure control, infection control, fire, and disaster procedures.
• Assist when needed in all areas of maintenance when workload dictates the need.
• Responsible for maintaining assigned tool and equipment inventory in good safe working condition Interfaces with customers, contractors, and staff to assure quality service is being performed.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Strong commitment to working safely and professionally.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Understand and carry out instructions.
• Ability to organize, sequence, and perform assigned tasks within schedule.
• Ability to physically perform the job duties.
• Dependable and consistent in following instructions and blueprints.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday with minimal weekends required
