This position reports to the Airport Operations Manager. As a Gateway Manager will be responsible for the integrated operation of unloading and loading of aircraft; the transfer of cargo between aircraft and warehouse for processing; the package sortation scanning, palletization and outbound trucking/shipping preparation process; and coordinated interface with trucking operator that delivers the pallets from the warehouse. The Gateway Manager supervises the entire operation to include: Ground Support Handling of piece level sortation of packages; and the interface with separate linehaul delivery group. The operation is currently scheduled (but subject to change) for mid-afternoon through early morning time frame (8-13 hours total operating time daily). This job is a 5 day per week job. This operation is conducted 7-days per week. Occasional work on the weekends/off-days may be required, however a management team of 3-6 managers will support the operational requirements of this schedule. This position needs to be capable of stepping into all other management positions if needed.

Pay Range:

$90,000-$120,000 DOE

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall gateway operation in compliance with company and client standard to include:
    • All activities associated with the receiving of aircraft
    • Unloading, and Loading of ULDs from/to the aircraft.
    • Pushback of aircraft
    • Transfer of cargo from ramp to warehouse
    • Package sortation, scanning and palletizing,
    • Preparation of palletized cargo for out bound delivery into truck
    • Ensures compliance with all client metrics, standards and reporting requirements.
  • Works with the management team (3-6 Managers) who directly report to the Gateway Manager to ensure the sortation and ramp operations are sufficiently staffed.
  • Supervises all operations to ensure compliance with TSA and DOT requirements
  • Compliance with local, state, federal regulations as well company policies and procedures, customer information and security requirements.
  • Ensures customer required reports are prepared and issued on time
  • Reports safety, security, and theft incidents
  • Demonstrates internal and external customer service
  • Print manifest
  • Review the flight tracker
  • Send stats to leadership
  • Ensure correct timesheet is provided for crew
  • Ensure leadership sends out scheduled breaks via leadership group chat
  • Go over expectations with leadership and administrators
  • Review positions board
  • Ensure all equipment is in working condition
  • Ensure administrators start and complete their tasks throughout the shift
  • Review trips via Relay app
  • Send out communication and manifests
  • Review Contrails reports
  • Review Chime chatrooms
  • Ensure supplies are available for crew throughout warehouse
  • Review all ramp crew emails
  • Review inbound/outbound on logistics page
  • Correct any ADP timesheet errors
  • Review any applicants if hiring
  • Get a plan together for end of shift, communicate with floor leaders
  • Watch VISTA for any controllable errors
  • Have a speech/statement prepared for the debriefing

Qualifications:

  • Previous management experience
  • Customer service oriented, friendly, helpful, and professional disposition with strong influence leadership skills to work in a fast paced and always changing environment and manage people optimally.
  • Experience with aircraft ground handling and sortation process is desired
  • Excellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills required.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task and work effectively under a minimum level of supervision in a fast-paced environment, strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate a consistent capability of working cooperatively with others in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Moving items over fifty pounds will be done using team lift. Must meet physical lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
