Deli Counter Team Member

Randy’s Sausage is looking for a new team member to join its team!
Randy’s Sausage is a specialty meat shop located in Detroit’s Eastern Market district. We offer a full line of specialty smoked and fresh meats featuring our own line of unique products.

Work environment:

• Fast-paced, fun, and social atmosphere that requires continuous communication with customers and co-workers

Requirements:

• Requires repetitive movements such as slicing, cutting, wrapping, packaging and labeling products
• Requires safe handling of meat cutting equipment
• Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand on feet for extended period of time
• Ability to multi-task
• Able to work Saturday's hours
• Requires the use of hairnet, apron, gloves etc. to be worn
• Strong communication skills
• Some customer service experience preferred
• Previous food handling experience preferred
• Perfect for someone with previous waiter/waitressing experience

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service by approaching customers as they arrive, answering questions and providing suggestions
• Cutting, packaging and labeling products at the customer’s request
• Maintaining an organize and cleanly work space
• Stocking deliveries of products with proper rotation to ensure freshness
• Maintaining selling display cases: making sure product is displayed neatly, signage is correct, looking for product that needs to be trimmed, re-wrapped, or discarded ensuring freshness of our product for the customer
• Keeping slicers, tables, knives, etc. clean and sanitized

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Weekends
