POSITION OVERVIEW

The Public Markets Writer will play an important role in helping develop an investor mindset for SEO’s Alternative Investment candidates, young finance professionals preparing for careers on the buy-side (predominantly in hedge funds and private equity).

Primary responsibilities will include writing and editing enthusiastic and engaging content 2-4 times per month on relevant macroeconomic trends, important market developments, and investing.

Through written blasts, the Public Markets Writer aims to:
Teach candidates about fundamental investing,
Excite candidates about pursuing a buy-side career,
Give buy-side recruiting advice.

QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of buy-side investing experience.
Direct financial writing copywriting experience required. In-house, agency, or freelance backgrounds apply.
An ability to distill complex investment topics into simple, clear language.
Excellent editing and proofreading skills.
Experienced in adopting branding guidelines and tone. Must be open to receiving and effectively incorporating feedback.
Able to work confidently with numbers and extract narratives from them.
Reliable, organized, and deadline-driven, with a proven track record of professionalism.
Experience writing copy across different media, including newsletters, emails, and for social media or other marketing channels, is a plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The compensation listed in this posting reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and SEO reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
