    About the Position
    This position will be assigned to a district kitchen where needed. The Food Service Employee is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the breakfast and lunch meal service which may include preparing breakfast and lunch items; setting up equipment and serving menu items for breakfast or lunch; taking down, cleaning and storing serving equipment; operating a dish machine and ensuring dishes are properly sanitized; serving as cashier during meal service and maintaining freezers, storerooms and refrigerators in an orderly manner. The successful candidate will have a significant amount of interaction with other kitchen staff and may interact with students, teachers, other building administrators and parents requiring the ability to work as a member of the central kitchen team and interact effectively with a wide variety of people.

    • Work Year: 180 day work year calendar
    • Hours per day: 4.5 hours per day
    • Shift Times and locations: 9:00am-1:30pm/Cedar Valley School Kitchen
    • Continuing

    Required Qualifications
    • A Snohomish Health Department food workers card is required.

    Salary
    2022-2023 Food Service Salary Schedule: $20.20 per hour. Additional step increases from $20.20 to $23.20, dependent on employer-approved training.

    Benefits
    Our benefits package includes Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package for eligible positions. Eligibility for health insurance at the time of hire is determined by holding at least a 3.5 hour per day continuing contract position, or being hired into a non-continuing position that is anticipated to reach 630 hours during the school year. Eligibility for retirement at the time of hire is determined by holding at least a 4 hour per day continuing contract.
