The Host position is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a friendly and personalized manner upon arrival into the restaurant. Maintain attentive and courteous communication with guests, answering the phone and all questions in a polite manner. This position handles take out for our guests; ensures all take-out guidelines, specifications and quality and service standards of met. Host presence at the front desk is required at all times to extend an appropriate welcome, farewell and a sincere invitation for our guests’ return. Host duties also include cleaning tables and restrooms throughout the shift.

The Food Runner is responsible for serving food orders as specified by guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

Qualifications

• Presents self in courteous and professional manner to guests at all times.
• Checks orders for accuracy prior to serving to ensure food items are as guests ordered (sides, extras, etc.).
• Delivers food orders with appropriate garnishments.
• Delivers food orders timely and, where multiple guests involved, at the same time.
• Communicates important information to guests (example: hot plate) and servers (example: guest seeking drink from bar).
• Responds to guests requests for condiments or other items.
• Continually clears away dishes and debris from stations.
• Has knowledge of table numbers and physical layout of restaurant in order to ensure prompt and proper service to guests.
• Brings guests inquiries regarding food allergies to Managers attention immediately.
• Ensure station is suitable for serving and meets company standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Must be able to perform under pressure in a high-volume restaurant setting.
• Must be able to handle guest incidents/complaints.
• Must be knowledgeable of Legal Sea Foods menus, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to handle cash and paperwork accurately.
• Must be well versed in Point of Sale and Reservation systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leads by example and demonstrates good judgment.
• Exhibits and uses good manners, proper personal hygiene, positive attitude, and promptness.
