Job summary:


Responsible for delivering food to table in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure that guests receive the correct food and accommodates them in any other requests that they have when food is delivered or notifying management if they are unable to fulfill guest requests themselves. Provides a brief description of each dish being delivered.

Scope:

Works to efficiently deliver hot, fresh, and properly garnished food to guests.

Supervision exercised:

None

Supervision received:

Supervisor: manager on duty and chef

Supervision: has assigned duties, station and procedures which are monitored throughout the shift by management and chef.

Responsibilities:

1. Properly garnishes plates as needed.

2. Properly toasts bread according to V&E Restaurant’s specs when needed.

3. Delivers food to guests in a timely and efficient manner to ensure top quality food.

4. Accommodates guests’ requests or alerts management if unable to.

5. Communicates effectively with chef and management on any lagging tickets or food needed to sell a ticket.

6. Is at all times appropriately groomed and wears the uniform provided.

7. Follows all necessary procedures when handling allergy tickets.

8. Follows all 4 steps of the “spotlight behavior” pamphlet.

Non-physical qualifications:

1. Must possess basic reading skills.

2. Must possess basic writing skills.

3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The physical qualifications listed below are general requirements for this position. The actual exertion level and frequency of use can and does fluctuate depending on the individual task being performed.

Physical qualifications:

1. Ability to move throughout the dining room and kitchen effectively.

2. Ability to lift and carry large oval trays above head weighing approximately 10-30 pounds repeatedly.

3. Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions.

Primary duties:

1. Assigned side work that is listed on the “food runner side work checklist”. This list includes but is not limited to things such as wiping down and organizing expo line, filling condiment ramekins (ketchup, butter, syrup, etc.), wipe down and maintain toaster oven, refilling sanitizer buckets.

2. Interacts with all guests that come into their path with a courteous smile.

Other duties:

1. As time permits assist chef and management in any duties related to the food runner classification

2. Additional related duties as requested by manager.
