Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly or indirectly supervises associates and/or supervisors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Major Responsibilities

  • Ensures that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by providing a Guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every Guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of Guest Service.
  • Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing AURO Hotels professionally with our guests and assuring that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Understands and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for associates and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, gets medical attention if necessary and contacts the GM or Human Resources immediately.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company associates to foster and promote a positive working environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in the selection, supervision, development, appraisal, counseling, and disciplinary action of departmental associates.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and customer service oriented environment; to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner
  • Work as a part of a team as well as complete assignments independently; take instructions from Managers and exercise problem solving skills. Observe diners to respond to additional requests.
  • Maintains communication with Chef. Understands menu prior to opening and is aware of changes during service; be familiar with daily specials, wine list, cocktails and bar.
  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items, garnish, contents and preparation methods. Be prepared to answer any guest questions about the menu in a direct, concise way.
  • Check food before serving it to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct.
  • Controls operation of his/her restaurant. Insures proper execution of service between team members.
  • Complete opening/closing duties. Close server’s paperwork at the end of the shift. Responsible for his/her bank. All completed paperwork given to Night Audit. Responsible for insuring that checks are closed to correct account.
  • Awareness of hotel functions and special events. Know locations of all outlets and services.
  • Knowledgeable on computer terminal, POS System and Time & Attendance System.
  • Insure restaurant team follows AURO Hotels and Brand Standards and policies and procedures with regard to the sequence of service in the restaurant.
  • Display friendly hospitable greeting and seating guests. Seat and present guest with clean menus. Seat all stations equitably assuring equal distribution of parties.
  • Keep reception area clean and neat.
  • Answer phone properly and promptly giving name of restaurant and identifying self.
  • Check that tables are properly set, side stations kept clean, and all side work is properly and completely done.
  • Know and understand all complimentary and coupon policies and keep record in order.
  • Handle initial guest complaints and inform Manager on Duty, immediately. Report all incidents to Manager.
  • Assure smooth transition at shift change remaining on duty until relief is present.
  • Circulate stations making sure guests are getting proper service and all associates are in stations and providing exceptional guest service.
  • Must be able to do any requirements for the following jobs - Food Servers, Bus Persons, and Host/Hostess. Must help staff when needed, by bussing tables, serving food, opening wine, etc.

  • Complies with Company Standards of Service as outlined for AURO Hotels.
  • Projects a favorable image of AURO Hotels to the public at all times.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Treats guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times.
  • Completes Departmental, AURO Hotels and Brand standards training as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean and neat appearance at all times.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
