Our agency has been providing services to those with developmental disabilities for over 15 years. The vast majority of our clientele is school-aged; however, we also support individuals much older. The goal of our services it to foster one’s socio-emotional development, while at the same time empowering the families to gain the confidence to see growth in their family member.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are excited to be able to continue to expand our growing team! We currently have openings for our Developmental/Floortime Specialist positions. The Developmental Specialist position provides DIR/Floortime therapy to individuals with disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities, and Down Syndrome. Floortime therapy is a play-based approach that focuses on three main areas of development: play, communication and social. The goal is to help the child or individual reach their developmental milestones, and to also do this by parent coaching. Specialists work independently in different settings and report directly to the Case Manager.

AREAS WE SERVE

  • Los Angeles (East LA, Montebello, Huntington Park, Whittier)
  • San Gabriel Valley (Alhambra, Monterey Park, San Gabriel, Temple City, Rosemead, El Monte, Baldwin Park, La Puente, Azusa, Covina, Pomona)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s in Psychology or related field
  • 1-year experience working with children
  • Be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week (between hours of 2-8pm [M-F], 9-5 [Saturdays])
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin)
  • Reliable transportation & willing to drive 25 miles from our center (San Gabriel)
  • Daily Computer & Internet Access
  • Must have great people skills
  • Quick problem solver
  • Team player
