Job Summary and Qualifications

The Float Pool/Employee Health Manager in the East Florida Ambulatory Surgery Division (ASD), ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the ASD Float Pool within their market. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of clinical care in accordance with established ASC policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of division objectives. This role also provides leadership resources to the ASC level assigned employee health nurses assisting to oversee requirements of this role, collaborate and communicate with such while also ensuring consistency to ASC policies. The Float Pool/ EH Manager may assume additional responsibilities as well, depending on the needs of the EFL ASD.


What you will do in this role:

  • Manages nursing practice and department operations. Monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures to ensure patient and family needs are assessed and met.
  • Facilitates effective care coordination policies and procedures to promote improved quality, safety, and efficiency in care. Ensures staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.
  • Manages nursing practice and department operations. Monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures to ensure patient and family needs are assessed and met.
  • Is the Employee Health nurse for the division: Reviews and approves new hire employee health records, ensuring compliance with company policies, and existing rules and regulations. Provides support to managers for reporting on the job accidents that may occur at the centers, and assist in center survey preparations to ensure all Employee Health records are compliant with rules and regulations.   • Builds a competitively superior ASD Float Pool through attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent. Ensures people with the right skills and motivations are in the right role, at the right time, to meet business needs.
  • Acts in the capacity of float pool staff member when there is a critical need to fill positions.
  • Ensures Float Pool staff clinical competence, education, licensure, and required certifications through ongoing, confidential management of employee records
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, practices, and legal/regulatory standards. Strong organizational and planning skills required.


Requirements for this position:

  • 1+ years applicable experience in leadership
  • 1+ years applicable clinical experience Experience in OR or PACU
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse or Associate Degree
