HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: Mornings, Midday, Nights, Weekends


SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

The Fitness Floor Attendant working as part of the Health and Wellness Team, will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA while monitoring the fitness center. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Fitness Floor Attendant working as part of the Health and Wellness Team, will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA while monitoring the fitness center. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Greet and check in with members; build relationships.

2. Assist members with basic concerns and questions. Examples: how do the tvs work, how to turn on a treadmill.

3. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the fitness center, including but not limited to equipment, glass and fans.

4. Report any equipment outages.

5. Fill the paper towel dispensers/wipes, and refill cleaning fluid.

6. Pick up the area to ensure it is clean and safe. i.e.. towels, trash, equipment left out.

7. Maintain fitness tools as appropriate. i.e. inflate fit balls, check exercise bands/tubes.

8. Follow and enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including: personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies. Carry out emergency plans as necessary.

9. Ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members and guests in our facility.

10. Set up orientation appointments.

11. Answer questions regarding classes and other programs we offer.

12. Be dressed in appropriate attire and wear nametag.

13 Attend and remain current on all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.

14. Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA Annual Support Campaign.

15. Any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles within 6 months of hire or an action plan in place

2. Listen First within 6 months of hire or an action plan in place

3. BLS (Basic Life Support)/AED, First Aid and Emergency O2 within 30 days of hire

4. Strong communication, and listening skills are required.

5. Must be 16 years of age or older
