Summary:
This position is in the Revenue Management Department to prepare and file Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. After passing the CPA exam, the opportunity for moving into a manager role would be available in the Revenue Management Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
    • Ability to understand and apply general Medicare and Medicaid regulations to specific hospital fact patterns.
    • Ability to communicate with corporate and hospital financial staff to obtain information required to file Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
    • Ability to communicate reimbursement results of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports to corporate and hospital staff
  • Support Medicare and Medicaid audits, appeals, amendments and reopenings for prior year cost reports
  • Identify potential reimbursement opportunities; including Medicare geographic reclassification, Disproportionate Share, Medicare rural hospital designations, state and local governmental funding programs, Medicaid rate setting, and other critical reimbursement areas
  • Communicate with Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) to resolve issues
  • Communicate with Medicaid State Agency auditors to resolve issues

Qualifications:
Required Education: BS. /B.A. in Accounting
Preferred Education: GPA 3.0 or greater

Required License/Registration/Certification: Candidates should be currently working to obtain or planning to obtain CPA certification

Computer Skills Required: Proficient Excel skills
