Pay Rate: $18.50 increasing to $19.50 on July 1, 2023

A Smelter Field Operator in the Manufacturing Unit works from specific verbal and/or written instructions to operate the appropriate process equipment to produce a consistent product.

During your job as a Smelter Field Operator, you will…

  • Set up, operate, monitor, clean and maintain equipment related to pyrometallurgical processes.
  • Material tapping, crushing, and sampling.
  • Alloy tapping, alloy casting, melting, and granulation.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Coordinate and prepare documentation of materials.
  • Keep accurate records, in order to maintain good metal control.
  • Follow all safety regulations.
  • Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in work area.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
