SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Energy Services Manager/ RME, the Field Inspector will conduct field assessments, inspections and monitor client files, reporting on any compliance rules, regulations, and requirements concerns.

Assists in the fulfillment of the agency’s vision, “For Those We Serve,” by empowering individuals who thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs home assessments, inspections and completes diagnostic testing as required.

Assists Compliance Monitor/Inspector in conducting field monitoring inspections.
Ensures program compliance to contract rules, regulations, and requirements, including
monitoring subcontractor client files and conducting field inspections.

Understands and communicates the technical aspects of the energy programs when working directly with clients and the public to educate them on energy conservation practices in the home.

Stays abreast of federal and state program policy changes and issues, ensuring Weatherization Installation Standards Manual (WIS) compliance as it applies to program guidelines.

Creates and maintains inspection reports using required program forms and/or MS Excel, MS Word and client database software.

Travels throughout Fresno County as required in personal and/or company vehicle.

Works evenings and weekends as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED

Vocational training certificate in Construction Management or Associates Degree in Construction Management required; Additional work experience may substitute for required education on a year-by-year basis.

EXPERIENCE:
One year of experience in Weatherization, energy conservation services, and/or other building construction trades.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
CSD certification in the following: Basic Weatherization, Blower Door and CAS Training.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software.

Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Bilingual English/Spanish or other secondary language preferred.

Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.

Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier.

Pass required background investigation including acceptable criminal record statement, driving record, and Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.
