The Salvation Army Corps in Yuma, AZ is looking to fill a Family Service Coordinator position. The successful candidate for this position will previous experience in a social service capacity, the ability to work efficiently on a diverse and cohesive team and be computer literate in MS office applications. This position is benefit eligible and comes with vacation, sick, health, vision, life insurance, free membership and more.

The Family Service Coordinator will have the responsibility for the operation of all Salvation Army Family Service Programs including but not limited to: Food Bank, Utility Assistance, Rental Assistance, Heat Relief, Pathway to Hope, Back to School, Christmas and Thanksgiving. This person will determine eligibility, maintain records, monitor costs, oversee staff, secure & train volunteers, intake of clients, case management, promotion of special events and distribution of funds and goods. Other duties will include community outreach, seasonal activities and working with other TSA divisions to enhance & expand programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in social work or related field required.
  • MSW strongly preferred
  • Years of experience in a social service capacity may substitute for education in a 2:1 ratio
  • Knowledge of local community resources
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude & an ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds & circumstances
  • Able to maintain a non-judgmental demeanor, using a professional approach and maintaining boundaries with clients
  • Able to handle crisis/emergency services for the homeless & working poor by utilizing crisis intervention, & conflict resolution skills
  • A proven ability to maximize services with budgetary constraints
  • Ability to quickly become proficient in Salvation Army approved Social Service programs, network requirements, and Link 2 Feed program from United Food Bank
  • Ability to work efficiently on a diverse and cohesive team
  • Computer literate & proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Publisher.
  • Ability to work in an office setting & operate office equipment
  • Must be able to type 50 wpm.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license and clean MVR & pass The Salvation Army Fleet Safety e-learning
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
