Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health provides intervention services for families in crisis who are referred by the Department of Children and Families, to provide them with resources and assistance to prevent children from entering the foster care system. Our goal is to create communities without abuse, neglect or abandonment, while helping parents or caregivers who may otherwise have no support or guidance.

Based out of Deland and providing coverage throughout Volusia County, this is a field based position that assists the Family Case Manager to implement Family Preservation Plans. It provides direct support and assistance to parents and their children in their homes or in community-based settings. It will transport children and families to and from doctor's appointments, counseling sessions, resource meetings, school, aftercare, and other events as needed. It observes and documents the family's progress and provides progress notes the Family Case Manager, who in turn coordinates that information to the Child Protective Investigator. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that families have the resources they need to quickly stabilize and build into strong, healthy and safe households, where children can excel and grow into confident and productive individuals.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
  • 1+ years working with at-risk children and families, child welfare, case management, social work, direct support, or related required
  • Prior experience with car seats, installation and safety, and expiration dates required
Other Requirements:
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license required
  • Must be available to attend a 3 day new hire orientation, Monday - Wednesday, 9am - 5pm
  • Flexibility to train and/or provide coverage if needed at other Family Builders work locations such as in Deland, Daytona Beach or Palatka, FL.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Test and TB Test. Devereux requires all employees to obtain the annual Influenza Vaccine.
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization. Devereux fosters a culture of reporting abuse, and will cooperate with the authorities to the fullest extent possible.
