SUMMARY

The Facility Space Planner will provide on-site Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) and deliverables. This position includes maintaining all space planning COAs/records, space allocation surveys; data entry; tracking; reporting using required NexGen IT Systems; presents space planning logic to leadership; coordination of building system, construction, standardization and space planning principles knowledge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Develop and manage Customer Authorization (CA) creation/review/update and coordinate Facility Board (FB) approval; prioritize Facility Space Allocation Survey (FSAS); verify real property records per team validation; identify space optimization opportunities and develop planning actions; assist Project Programmer to justify FSRM.
  • Provide facility space data for DD Form 1391; calculate (CA) and develop Facility Space Optimization Plan (FSOP) and prepare it for (IFB) approval.
  • Utilize AF NEXGEN IT (Tririga) reports and process actions required/needed to maintain and update installation facility records, including correction of discrepancies discovered during records review and inspections, and to document FBWG/IFB space planning COAs.
  • Conduct (FSOP) surveys- interviews, FM, CAD/GIS, RPO and customer leadership coordination.
  • Coordinate with CAD/GIS, Real Estate and Facility Managers to establish COAs.
  • Work to establish space processes to support AFCEC requirements while addressing sensitive workplace issues.
  • Advise USAFA customer on the current uses of existing square footage.
  • Assist in the preparation of products and materials for the on-going working groups.
  • Develop (FSOP) to advise leadership on regarding facility use optimization actions.
  • Track and update space use and CATCODE changes to be IFB approved.
  • Maintain and update electronic facility folders for all installation facilities. Follow Space Planning Playbook in conjunction with AFCEC direction.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No management of others or supervisory roles

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in architecture, interior design, occupancy or space planning is highly desired.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction and project management activities at installation level USAFA experience is highly desired, but DoD experience is valuable.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working closely with US military/DoD personnel providing advisory and assistance services for complex programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Technical ability to analyze and understand the military space management processes, database systems and reports.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to comfortably interact with senior level government and contractor personnel on an as needed basis.
  • Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Air Force NACI/SF85 for unescorted access to controlled areas.
  • NCIDQ beneficial, familiar with business process improvement.
  • Project Management certification beneficial.
  • Requires a Common Access Card (CAC) or the ability to obtain one through a federal security investigation.
  • Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen.
  • Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work will be performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • Site visits to see and validate real property facilities and infrastructure are required.
