General Statement of Duties:
Responsible for the general operation of the Field House. Supervising programs most evenings during the winter and operation of the outdoor pool in the summer months. Supervising Additional duties include supervising the concessions operation within the Montrose Recreation District.
Supervision Received : Reports directly to the Facilities Manager
Supervision Exercised: Direct supervision of all part-time Concessions Attendants. Supervises & trains part-time staff when their supervisors are not present.

Essential Duties : The following are examples of primary duties assigned to this position. Other related duties may be assigned.
  • Manager on Duty at the Field House four (4) evenings per week during the winter and 5 days per week during the summer.
  • Acts as the Customer Service Representative by processing program registrations, POS operation, daily deposit transactions, and tracking Field House pass management records.
  • Responsible for providing excellent customer service in-person and over the phone.
  • Ensure that the facility is properly prepared, cleaned, and maintained for the safe and effective operation of programs, activities, and drop-in services.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of MRD's activity guide, personnel, programs, services, facilities, and policies.
  • Promotes programs, services, and facilities through in-person interactions through social media and with other avenues as available.
  • Coordinates with the programming staff and Facility Manager to ensure adequate management of the Field House programs and activities.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of new and established athletic, enrichment and fitness programs, drop-ins, and facility rentals.
  • Responsible for scheduling and ensuring a high level of service for facility rentals and parties.
  • Assists in the development and administration of MRD's assigned budgets.
  • Collaborates with a team of motivated, capable and professional Core Staff members so that MRD provides the greatest quality and quantity of service.
Position Qualifications :

Experience: Preferred one (1) year of facility management, programming experience

Preferred Education & Training: Bachelor's degree with major course work in recreation, physical education, management, or a related field. Experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

License and Certification:


  • CPR/1st Aid Certification or ability to obtain
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license.
Work Environment: Office environment with extensive public contact. Hours include some seasonal variations, evenings, weekends, and some holiday hours. The employee is required to utilize their personal vehicle, with mileage reimbursement.
The daily schedule for this position in the winter is generally Sunday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. The schedule for Summer is generally Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Physical Conditions : Primary functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time. This position may require some lifting and working primarily indoors.
