Description:This position is for a facilities staff engineer supporting Lockheed Martin operations in a production environment at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This individual will participate in management of calibration and precision cleaning as well as maintenance and repair of Orion mechanical ground support equipment at KSC. Responsibilities will also include working extensively in SAP software to ensure service orders, production orders, work orders, maintenance notes that capture problems or corrective action, and strategies are developed, released, dispositioned and closed. Individual will also be required to generate electronic material requests and track material receipts.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience managing proof load and maintenance of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment
  • Experience with documenting and disposition of failed or non-conformance equipment
  • Experience with operation of environmental testing equipment
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with Production stakeholder
  • Ability to obtain Ground Processing Equipment Controller (GPEC) certification (Training and data base access within 90 days).
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and weekends / off shifts
  • Must be able to navigate around equipment and facilities infrastructure aligning to the roles and responsibilities of this position, including climbing stairs, ladders, etc. in order to access the various areas/tooling/equipment required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows products including Power Point, Excel and Microsoft Word.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with NASA KSC Operations and Checkout Building is preferred.
  • Experience with operation of environmental testing equipment (both thermal and altitude simulation)
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Experienced as a project manager responsible for managing the technical, budgetary and schedule performance
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
