This position is in Military Engines Customer Support Engineering for the F135 Engine that supports the F35 aircraft. This position is within Pratt & Whitney’s military engine sustainment organization and located in West Palm Beach, Florida. The position will act as a primary interface with the depot production organization for the remanufacture of F135 Engines for Customer Support Engineering. Internal interfaces with Support Equipment Engineers, Component Aftermarket Integrated Product Teams, Logistics Program Management, Operations, Program Office, Quality, and Fleet Management organizations. A wide variety of daily tasks are to be supported within the following categories:

Activities include:

  • Operate within cross functional work teams in an environment that supports operations, government customers, and program management.
  • A wide variety of daily tasks are to be supported within the following categories:
  • Manufacturing blueprint review & interpretation for jet engine hardware
  • Technical data review, interpretation, and authoring
  • Item repair strategy
  • Support processes authoring technical dispositions and SAP EQN System dispositions
  • Interface with internal Quality organization to assure process & product integrity
  • Technical support of Hardware field issues
  • Support for authoring of technical dispositions for jet engine hardware & support equipment
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvement
  • Coordination with engine fleet management programs
  • Product team technical presentations and cross organization communication
  • Technical support of Support Equipment and its relationship to engine hardware
  • Development and creation of standard work for various processes/procedures
  • Develop proficiency and expertise in Customer Support Engineering (CSE) processes.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical discipline or Aviation Maintenance required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to support second shift operations in a fast paced, dynamic, and results-based production environment.
  • Technical familiarity with engineering blueprints and the ability to read engineering drawings.
  • SAP familiarity and ability to enter and interrogate data.
  • Ability to review and understand technical concepts related to jet engine hardware performance and life cycle durability required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office resources.
  • Basic understanding of jet engine or support equipment/tooling development planning, project management, tool design, tool manufacturing, and inspection processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, communication, organizational, time management skills and the ability to work well with multi-disciplinary groups is required.
  • A working-knowledge of value stream mapping, standard operating procedures, and root-cause analysis, mistake-proofing is desired.
  • Basic knowledge of Air Force Technical Orders
  • US Citizenship required due to Federal Contracts
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • Travel: 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A&P mechanic certification or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 2 years related operational experience is preferred.
