Quick Supply Company is a family-owned business that began serving the construction industry in 1938 supplying explosives and offering blasting services to limestone quarries throughout the Midwest. Position Overview:

We are actively seeking to hire an CDL Driver at our Bloomington location. The ideal candidate would have a strong desire to work as an Explosives Driver and Blasting Trainee until certifications are obtained to be a Blaster. This individual will support the Site Manager and the Blaster in charge role to receive on-the-job training to prepare and layout planned explosive related blasts. In addition, this position will also transport explosives and other materials to job sites, loading/unloading trucks, shop maintenance and other duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Transport explosives and other materials to/from customer locations.
  • Loading and unloading trucks.
  • Ability to assist in the layout, prepare for the detonation of shots.
  • Assist in verifying that pre-blast inspections have been conducted prior to blasting to secure a safe blast area and a successful detonation.
  • Operating the pumping system on trucks.
  • Shoveling rock stemming into holes.
  • Assist to throw out product on the quarry bench.
  • Assist to complete all required inventory tracking paperwork, including field blast reports, and magazine inventory paperwork.
  • Understands and follows all company/industry safety policies and practices.
  • Attends all company meetings & safety trainings as required.
  • Must be flexible to customer demands including scheduling and working around weather changes.
  • Truck and warehouse maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class B CDL with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements or have the ability to obtain one within 90-days of hire.
  • Ability to pass background check, pre-employment screening and random drug/alcohol screenings.
  • Meet all State and Federal explosives laws as set forth by the BATF
  • Meet all FMSCR requirements.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to lead, listen, train, and work well as a team member.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must adhere to all safety rules at all times
  • Must be able to lift 55+ pounds at a time.
  • Willingness to work long hours, particularly during high peak business season, sometimes in undesirable weather conditions.
  • Must be able to travel frequently.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting in a trailer cab.
  • Must be able to walk/traverse, stand, bend, stretch, kneel, and squat.
