Velocity is a high-end classic car restoration facility in Cantonment, Florida. The company elevates the classic vehicle experience by modernizing vintage vehicles. Originally heralded as a leading specialty restoration shop for Classic Ford Broncos winning major industry awards, it is growing into a complete vehicle production facility. Velocity produces “restomod” restorations where vintage vehicles are upgraded with modern parts, drivetrain, and technology making them functionally new while maintaining an original or vintage aesthetic. The company has pioneered a custom classic vehicle renovation via an assembly line process, ensuring a high level of quality control, with a known price, and significantly decreased build time. Job Description

The Interior Technician is a highly skilled role responsible for creating and installing high end upholstery and interior components into our classic vehicles. In depth knowledge of modern upholstery techniques, a good eye for detail, and the ability to visualize design ideas is required.

About Your Role

• Make, install, repair, replace, or modify seats, upholstery, linings, interior trim, roof and door linings, and floor coverings.
• Make recommendations for upgrades to set the Velocity standard.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Use sewing machine or hand stitching.
• Install precise customized vintage interiors.
• Adapt and conform with a wide variety of premium quality upholstery.
• Utilize creative knowledge with hand-crafted upholstery applications.
• Inspect both raw material and finished product for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficiently organized workstation.
• Possess a strong understanding of measurements in all units.
• Work with composites, carbon fiber, and starboard.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong attention to detail with ability to properly install upholstery in tight spaces of interior vehicle frames.
• Relentless desire to produce high quality work and to continue learning new trends and techniques.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working independently or in a team setting.
• Comfortable with verbal and written direction and switching tasks as needed to meet deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Mandatory drug screening required.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in the automotive industry environment or other related fields of high-quality automotive upholstery (Prior automotive restoration preferred).
• Experience with sewing machines and hand stitching with precise hand-eye coordination.

Physical Demands (to include but not limited to)

• Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment or power tools.
• Sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, and place items up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Frequent reaching overhead and below knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.
• Frequently and repeatedly using hands and wrists to grasp, move, manipulate, and assemble fabrics and objects.
• See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
