Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a highly motivated, creative and skilled Experienced Machinist (level C) in a production environment to support Boeing manufacturing facility located in Helena, MT.

The ideal candidate will have a background in hand finishing parts, use of hand tools, mechanical ability and machining 4+ years’ experience with Lathes, Mill Turns, Boring Mills and / or Friction Welding while working in a collaborating and teaming environment with the ability improve the daily work and quality improvement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Proficient & knowledgeable to train with Fanuc and Siemens controlled CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, CNC mill-turn machines, CNC boring Mills & robotics.

  • Performs set-ups and machining on 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines of production parts for 787.

  • Train lower level qualified team members in manufacturing and assembly processes, equipment, standardized work and part requirements.

  • Hand finish and edge break of aluminum, stainless & titanium production parts.

  • Performs part detail assemblies, bushing install, honing, final assembly of production parts.

  • Performs production part inspection with all manner of hand inspection tools during production.

  • Performs part production & assembly with components and systems using established drawings, specifications and requirements.

  • Utilize, follow, update and create standardized work and step details required for production parts and assemblies.

  • Use and lead BPSM or RPS to support real time problem solving – stop work if / when required to find the true root cause.

  • Ensure all parts are inspected prior to closing an operation so we do not pass on any defects to our downstream customers.

  • Willing and able to work any assigned shift schedule (1st: Mon-Thu 6:00am-4:00pm | 2nd: Mon-Thu 4:00pm-2:00am | 3rd: Fri-Sun 6:00am-6:00pm | 4th: Fri-Sun 6:00pm-6:00am)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 3+ years’ experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to work any shift/weekends/nights/overtime as business conditions dictate.

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs; Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs; Occasional carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, walking, standing, balancing; Frequent reaching overhead and at or above shoulder; Frequent sitting; Frequent climbing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 4+ years’ experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.

  • 4+ years’ experience with Boring Mills, Mill Turns, Lathes and/or Friction Welders

  • 4+ years’ experience setting up cutting tools and verification prior to work

  • Experience in a team environment.

  • Team Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
