TOURISTS is seeking one full-time Events & Programs Manager to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate has experience managing or coordinating events for groups up to 175 people, connections in the outdoor, wellness and/or arts spaces, and is comfortable facilitating partnerships and corporate group programming. The successful applicant is a genuine “people person,” a self-starter, an expert communicator (both written and oral), and motivated to see all tasks through the finish line.

Compensation is based on experience, with a starting salary range of $50,000-$60,000 per year including potential for an annual bonus. Great benefits are included and detailed below.

Responsibilities

The Events & Programs Manager is responsible for managing group blocks & event sales, as well as overseeing the growing Art & Adventure program at the hotel.

The Events & Programs Manager will field all event and group block inquiries, negotiate contracts, lead site tours, develop brand partnerships, and perform outreach for group and event sales. In overseeing the Art & Adventure program, they will have the exciting opportunity to ideate and develop programs, act as administrator for our activity reservation system, and manage a team of facilitators, both in-house and third-party contractors. They will also work side-by-side with the front office team to provide concierge-level service to our guests.

Essential functions include:

Sales/Events

    *Manage all event client relations; leading up to, during and post event. *Field initial inbound event inquiries and pursue brand-aligned event business partnerships. *Create & maintain a database of all leads and business opportunities, ensuring follow up and continued relationship growth. *Negotiate contracts with clients *Maintain external events deck and brand collateral. *Seek out new business through market research, networking, and proactive outreach, providing appropriate & prompt follow up. *Facilitate walkthroughs for brand-right partnership, workshop and retreat inquiries. *Increase awareness of brands internally by creating internal communications, managing internal events and working with internal stakeholders and their various communication channels. *Manage tours with media/influencers and potential partnership contracts; represent the hotel at various networking events such as conferences, summits, client/partner entertainment, etc. *Participate in meetings, sales blitzes, and brainstorming opportunities to increase sales results for venue and ideate creative ideas/activations.

Programs/Art & Adventure

    *Develop, ideate, and execute event programming for hotel guests and locals as well as partnerships and corporate group programming *Maintain “Art & Adventure” booking platform *Execute program-related guest communication including pre-arrival emails and texting (using Whistle technology) *Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for programming, reservations and bookings to ensure quality of service, regulatory compliance, and set standards *Assist Front Desk and provide concierge-level service to guests *Manage A&A Programs supply and equipment inventory and ordering, and ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition *Act as Manager-on-Duty, directing and supporting line staff on the floor and ensuring exceptional service is provided to all hotel guests

Other duties include financial oversight, staff oversight, and participation with the hotel leadership team in trainings and operations meetings.

Experience

    *Minimum of two (2) years related experience in activities programming, hospitality, and/or the service industry *High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferred *Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English *Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals *Ability to write routine reports and correspondence *Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and guests *Proficiency in Google Suite and E-mail *Basic computer skills (ex: login/out, access work schedules/room status) *Ability to read, create and analyze financial reports and provide management summaries *Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. POS and PMS) *Ability to apply concepts of math including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and algebra, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Working Conditions/Environment

    *The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate *The person in this position may have to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Any lift over 50 lbs is deemed a two-person lift. *The person having this position may have to sit for one (1) hour, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day *The position does require movement between spaces on property exposing individual to variable climate conditions. *The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee typically encounters while performing the essential functions of the position. *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position.
