Contract Period: Academic-year position, on an as-needed scheduled basis, non-exempt

Supervisor: Director of Stockbridge Theatre

Qualifications: Associate degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience managing events and working with the public during events. Must be computer proficient, especially with a PC, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive; be available to work evenings and weekends, with the occasional weekday; and have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Some prior experience performing high-volume customer service-related work in a performing arts environment or with emergency situation management is desired. First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.

The Stockbridge Event Coordinator is responsible for the smooth operation of all activities taking place in the Stockbridge Theatre Lobby and audience area during public performances of external community organizations. The Event Coordinator welcomes the public to the theatre and oversees their safety and well-being before, during, and immediately after the show.

Duties: ● Assist in directing patrons into the theatre, bathrooms, or handicap elevators. ● Ensure that the lobby areas and theatre are clear for audience egress. ● Ensure that audience capacity does not exceed maximum capacity as set by the Derry Fire Department. ● Assist with crowd control in the lobby and theatre ● Communicate with the Stockbridge Technical Director regarding the event schedule. ● Communicate with the Assistant Director if there are questions regarding tickets and audience seating. ● Communicate with Pinkerton Security if there are issues with parking and safety concerns in the Stockbridge parking area. ● Communicate with Pinkerton Security and Technical Director in the event of an emergency. Contact the Derry Police or Fire Department if required. ● Follow all guidelines and procedures as laid out in the Stockbridge Emergency and Safety Procedures Manual. ● Communicate with Pinkerton’s Custodial Staff in the event of spills or other debris that requires immediate attention.
