The Vomela Companies Transportation Group has an exciting opportunity for a high-energy and customer-oriented Estimator and Planner to join our team. This position will process requests for quotes calculating the cost of materials, labor, and required production processes that meet the customer, project and product requirements. Plan jobs, BOM routing, job travelers and ensure all material is on site or order for production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the processes and flow of production and how the rates affect the final pricing
  • Be able to discern which nesting options will provide the best quote
  • Quote parts, based on the cost of materials, labor and required production processes
  • Calculate material required and submit purchase orders requests
  • Input Bill of Material (BOM) and routing into Syteline (existing part numbers and new production orders)
  • Update the job traveler’s notes field as needed
  • Keep all quotes logged by part number and a summary list to calculate material required and submit purchase orders as required
  • Maintain a safe clean and organized work environment
  • Perform other duties or task as directed by management
  • Enter recommendations to management for improvements in areas such as personal safety, improved product quality, better rates and yields, or any other matters that impact shop costs or employee’s health

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Conscientious self-starter
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Able to build and establish business relationships
  • Strong organization skills, impeccable attention to details and able to effectively manage multiple tasks while able to stay calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Possesses high energy, positive and upbeat personality with a passion for providing outstanding customer service
