Equipment Engineer Job at ARCH Medical Solutions - Seabrook, LLC
Summary:
To support and administer an effective maintenance program for all company owned manufacturing equipment (machine tools and associated manufacturing equipment).
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair activities on company machine tools, and manufacturing equipment as needed to maximize equipment availability and utilization.
- Develop and apply cost saving strategies and sourcing options for spare and repair parts.
- Work with machine tool suppliers to establish spare parts and critical component stocking programs.
- Respond to maintenance issues (equipment breakdowns etc.) during off hours via telephone, working through onsite resources to correct problems.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine course of action and consult with management on cost/benefit of extensive equipment repairs.
- Assists in the installation, relocation, modification and validation of Company machinery and equipment.
- Help to establish standards and procedures for equipment cleaning and daily upkeep.
- Responsible for lock out and tag out procedures and adherence to applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Support facilities upkeep and improvement projects as necessary.
- Train other department members.
- Assure that assigned activities are performed in accordance with Seabrook Quality System procedures.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical systems and components of common CNC machining centers and accessory equipment.
- Familiarity with and ability to troubleshoot high voltage wiring and low voltage control systems using proper tools and instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring schematics and hydraulic fluid diagrams.
- Familiarity with CNC machine tool programs and control systems
- Ability to operate standard machine shop equipment
- Understanding of precision mechanical components (bearings, ways, lead screws etc) and how to troubleshoot/repair/replace such components.
- Experienced with basic rigging and handling of heavy equipment and associated components.
- Working knowledge of applicable safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe maintenance procedures, operations or acts which might cause injury to self, others, equipment or the environment
- Ability to work independently and with equipment suppliers’ service personnel
- Ability to take work direction and complete tasks in an organized and timely manner
- Forklift and scissor lift training certified
- ARC Flash certified
- Moderate physical exertion required
- Lifting/carrying Maximum lbs: 50
- Frequent lbs: 10
- Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility
- Work in confined spaces and at high elevations
