Tofurky is looking for an Environment, Health, and Safety Manager to join our team.
This position will be responsible for the overall workplace environment, health, and safety activities at Tofurky, in alignment with the business objectives of the organization.


What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Multi-Site Plant Manager, the EHS Manager will lead the Environment, Health, and Safety functions to ensure minimal impact to the environment and health and safety of the workplace and our employees. The EHS Manager is accountable for effective compliance with environmental and safety rules and regulations. The EHS Manager is viewed as a key partner and contributor in building and maintaining a strong safety culture for our multi-site operations in Hood River, OR. This role is an onsite role.


Responsibilities include:

  • Overall responsibility to lead, develop, implement, and manage compliance of all aspects of environmental, health and safety programs
  • Assists in leading, developing, implementing, and managing site security programs
  • Lead, develop, implement, and manage company specific and compliance training for all employees per company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain OSHA, state, and environmental compliance with regulations
  • Develops, implements, and manages leading and laggings indicators and KPIs of EHS programs
  • Promotes a zero-incident culture by putting processes, systems, and programs in place to recognize hazards and prevent incidents before they occur
  • Effectively coaches and mentors’ others on effectively building strong safety culture, practices, and behaviors
  • Helps with incident investigations and promotes collaborative approach in addressing root cause and preventative measures to prevent recurrence
  • Conducts inspections and audits to ensure workplace hazards and risks are identified and company programs and policies are being followed
  • Participate in and leads regulatory audits
  • Maintains reporting submittals and compliance for environmental programs
  • Communicate effectively both written and verbally to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize both long and short-term objectives
  • Collaborate effectively across the organization; helps resolve conflicts
  • Lives, coaches, and follows the company’s guiding principles.

What skills and education you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree for a four-year university in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or equivalent type degrees. Will consider experience without degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Environmental and/or Safety roles in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in OSHA and applicable environmental regulations

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience a Food Manufacturing
  • Previous experience in an equivalent EHS role
  • Certified Safety Professional, OSHA 30, or similar industry credentials such as CIH, ASP, CHMM
  • Knowledge of SQF/BRC practices
  • Advanced computer skills with experience with ERP software
