ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s South Burlington, VT office is seeking an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer to join the Transportation Engineering team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help grow our practice in northern New England with the support and resources of an established transportation firm.

VHB’s passionate professionals include engineers, surveyors, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with public and private clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.


Together, we work to improve mobility, enhance communities and economic vitality, and balance development and infrastructure needs with environmental stewardship.


Responsibilities
  • Perform conceptual/final design of complete streets, roadway, shared-use path, and sidewalk projects
  • Perform field reconnaissance and collect information
  • Develop transportation scoping studies and alternatives analyses
  • Perform engineering calculations
  • Assist with drafting of project details and plans using MicroStation
  • Develop quantity and construction cost estimates
  • Develop contract documents and specifications

Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 0-1 year of experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • MicroStation or AutoCAD experience is a plus
  • EIT preferred
