The Core Infrastructure Architect will establish the overall technical vision for the global infrastructure and operations areas. Reporting into the VP of Operations and Core Infrastructure, this role will be accountable for proactively and holistically leading technical architecture activities that will guide the direction and development of the strategic roadmap across the Shaw Enterprise. This role has a deep focus in multi-cloud, network, security, and IT strategy.

The Shaw Core Infrastructure Architect will leverage current state infrastructure, directing and developing future state strategies and approaches in collaboration with other IT and business subject matter experts. This role is strategic in nature and will focus on strong collaboration and engagement across the Shaw enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • A solution driver who has a passion for demonstrating continuous learning by proactively expanding technical depth in products, solutions, and services, particularly in the Microsoft space.
  • Operates with the perspective and insight that business needs, not just technology, establish the limits on what can be achieved.
  • Able to manage a small team of direct reports, but able influence stakeholders across the Shaw Enterprise.
  • Designs technical solutions, focused on the Citrix/VDI Virtual Desktop technologies. Designing solutions with security and privacy at the core. Using standard approaches, considering the customer’s infrastructure limitations and opportunities; analyzes, interprets, and presents assessment results.
  • Determines and defines services that complement and/or round out proposed hardware and software engagements for office and manufacturing (IT/OT) users.
  • Provides feedback to technology leaders where opportunities exist to improve offerings, design, and delivery execution.
  • Assists new team members by answering questions and sharing expertise on the tools of the job.
  • Having detailed technical discussions with existing and potential clients
  • Follows up on implemented solutions and identifies new opportunities that complement the work that was completed.
  • Uses various tools to calculate the total cost of wwnership and/or return on investment and explains to customers the business value of a solution and its benefits.
  • Collaborates with partners, solution managers, and delivery teams to pull a deployment together.
  • Develop backlog of new capabilities and service improvements

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in medium or large-scale IT or business leadership capacity
  • 2 or 4-year college degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field or has equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience implementing and supporting Sales & Marketing solutions in a large-scale environment
  • Application & Desktop Virtualization technologies experience
  • Development of project deliverable documentation, including design, build and operations guides
  • Microsoft Intune/ Microsoft Endpoint Manager
  • Desktop Transformation
  • Multiple Windows versions
  • Knowledge of operation management, systems security, testing, and mobility considerations.
  • Assisting in proposal writing and solutions
  • Communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form
  • Technical and procedural documentation including designs.
  • Experience with Windows Server /2016/2019
  • Active Directory
  • Windows 10 desktop transformation/desktop modernization
  • Mostly Microsoft Azure, but a multi-cloud knowledge, specifically around Identity & Access Management (IAM), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
  • O365/M365 experience strongly preferred.
  • Application Packaging processes and technologies
  • Strong understanding of network protocols/services and network infrastructure
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Expertise creating roadmaps and the desire to learn and be a problem solver

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is a hybrid role, requiring an ability and willingness to travel to various Shaw locations when needed to attend in-person events.
