What You'll Do
As an Engineering Test Lab Technician, you'll be part of our Industrial, Engineered Fastening team located in Decorah, IA. You'll get to:
  • Perform set-up of testing equipment following established procedures.
  • Perform testing of products and assemblies per protocol or test plan.
  • Record test data, including results and subjective notes.
  • Machine basic fixtures and prepare samples for tests required.
  • Comply with all environmentally safe practices and regulations including MSDS documents.
  • Maintain equipment, ensuring accuracy and satisfactory condition.
  • Possess working knowledge of and adheres to the operation's quality systems and outside accreditations (ISO 9000, QS 9000, ISO Guide 25, ISO 17025, etc.).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by department supervisor/manager
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed

The Person:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Associate degree in engineering or other relevant discipline preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to work with limited details.
  • Ability to operate metalworking tools such as mills, drills, and drive tools preferred.
  • Understanding of statistical process control preferred.
  • Understanding of industry and customer specifications such as ISO and ASME preferred.
  • Knowledge of fastener manufacturing processes including heat treatment and finishing referred.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements preferred.
