The Plant Engineering Manager leads, recommends, initiates, and oversees innovation, reliability, and process improvements across the plant. Develops, plans, and executes annual capital budget and spare parts inventory. Work closely with cross functional teams to plan work, set targets, and make sure timelines are met. This role is expected to spend time on the production floor alongside technicians and operators, ensuring designed processes, procedures, and best practices are followed. Functions as a key member of the plant leadership team.

Primary work location will be Cartersville, GA. This position will support and travel to other locations as necessary.

Responsibilities:

· Respond, as a priority, to unplanned operational and maintenance events and participate in hands-on trouble shooting as needed to expeditiously resolve the problem and minimize downtime. This sometimes includes non-daytime hours, holidays, and weekends.

· Researches, develops, designs documents and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems.

· Providing technical assistance, process improvement and manufacturing support for chemical production.

· Develop, initiate, implement, establish, and improve engineering processes and practices within the plant so as to drive continuous improvement in results. Audit and validate engineering processes and practices regularly against business objectives to maximize value.

· Manage related outside services within plant's annually operating budget. Develop and implement cost savings ideas and initiatives.

· Diagnose operational effectiveness of processes and equipment, recommend corrective actions and solutions to meet production needs, improve overall equipment effectiveness/efficiency (OEE), and reliability.

· Develops applications of controls, instruments, and systems.

· Provide engineering support to the Plant including the development, design, specification, justification, and writing of capital project requests timely within company guidelines. Align with factory leadership on trials, commissioning, validating, start-up and handover.

· Oversee capital projects including, design, specification, budget, justification, schedule, vendor selection, installation, debugging, and post-audit activities within company guidelines.

· Lead and manage miscellaneous projects and integrations as assigned by Plant Manager

Education and Experience Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Process). Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering is preferred.

· Seven to ten years of experience in plant manufacturing operations, maintenance management, capital project management, and process improvements. Aerosol and/or chemical experience is a plus.

· Direct experience with project or process engineering support for batch or continuous chemical production strongly preferred.

· Experience in a chemical additives, chemical fill, manufacturing facility.

· Strong experience with chemical processes, chemical reactions, and chemical fabrication.

· Strong electrical engineering foundation.

· Experience with PLC programming / controls, Allen Bradley programming

· Basic CAD experience with the ability to read blueprints, PNIDs, electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.

· Must demonstrate leadership, conflict resolution skills; assertiveness, motivational and positive attitude; foster teamwork.

· Superior written and verbal communication skills; administrative and financial skills, excellent problem solver, able to interact with personnel at all levels.

· Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).

· Predictive and Preventative Maintenance.

· Certified Project Management, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

· Professional Engineering Certification a plus
