Job Summary

This position develops, promotes, and implements LPEA s technical outreach and education program with members, contractors, builders, and partners/vendors. They also lead in the development of member-facing tools and educational efforts to support beneficial electrification uptake throughout LPEA s service territory. This individual is as a technical subject matter expert on beneficial electrification technologies, smart buildings, energy efficiency, and distributed energy resources. They interact with partner organizations, contractors, vendors, and members and work closely with teams across LPEA.

Essential Functions

  • Builds, grows, and maintains LPEA s technical outreach and education program to increase the uptake of beneficial electrification technologies across LPEA s services territory.
  • In conjunction with partners, facilitates and leads a regular and targeted series of beneficial electrification trainings and events to meet the educational and development needs of relevant LPEA stakeholders.
  • Leads LPEA s efforts to create tools (online calculators, cost-comparison guides, etc.) and training resources (webinars, events, info packets, etc.) to encourage the installation of beneficial electrification technologies across LPEA s service territory.
  • Supports in the member-facing implementation of LPEA s DER programs, including program design, promotion, implementation, tracking, administration, and process development.
  • Improves the administrative efficiency, database development, and member communications around LPEA s energy programs.
  • Supports in rebate processing and member calls as needed.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and advisory support for LPEA s energy management programs.
  • Maintains an expert level of knowledge of subjects pertaining to the energy efficiency, renewable energy, grid resiliency, DERs, and the electric utility business in general and provide this information to members when needed.
  • Assists with the coordination of community outreach activities.
  • Assists in the development of educational and public relations programs.

Requirements

  • 10 years' experience required in energy management, beneficial electrification, grid resiliency, engineering, or related field.
  • Additional training including an Associate degree, equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience. BA or BS or from a four-year college is a plus.
  • 5 years' experience in program and project management preferred.
  • Public speaking and/or group training experience required.
  • Exemplary interpersonal, customer service, and relationship mgmt. experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups.
  • Basic math skills with the ability to calculate amounts such as energy consumption and costs, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software as well as a willingness to learn and adopt new solutions as required.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must be willing/able to drive between Durango and Pagosa Springs on a regular basis.

Compensation

Annual pay rate- $76,286 - $93,949

LPEA takes into consideration a candidate s education, training, and experience when determining the salary level for potential new employees. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
