Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B), Job Description:

Job Summary:
EMT-B’s provides support services for our IV Infusion Paramedic team. This role will perform a wide array of duties and may move frequently throughout the clinic, and will be expected to regularly multitask. In addition to maintaining and developing a high degree of expertise in medical and customer care, your essential job functions include:
EMT-B Primary Job Duties:
- Helping to prepare and spike IV Infusion bags.
- Monitoring IV infusion drips and patient responses and comfort to IV’s.
- Finish and remove IV drips from patients.
- Documenting medical files prior to and after patient visits.
- Maintaining a sanitary IV room, as well as IV lounge.
- Sterilize equipment and prepare sterile IVs.
EMT-B Primary Attributes and Skills:
- Possess standard, basic EMT knowledge.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
- Must maintain a level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong time management and organizational skills are required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must be able to work well under pressure at times.
- Must be self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to remain open to learning new things is crucial.
- The single most important attribute of an EMT-B is a positive attitude.
- Must be able to work occasional Saturdays.
Educational and Experience Requirements and Preferences
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Must have certification from an accredited educational program for EMTs.
