Avenues by Brio Living Services is an organization that provides support and care management to people living independently in their own homes in the greater Grand Rapids area. The Avenues Care Team provides transportation to medical appointments, personal care assistance, and medication management when needed.

The Avenues Care Team is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to assist with geriatric assessments, medical terminology translation, medication management, and Avenues Member home visits. As a member of the Care Team, you will become an integral part of the Care Planning process.

Skills and Knowledge

1) Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
2) Possess the ability to deal tactfully with colleagues, peers, Avenues Members, and their families.
3) Function independently with flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, older adults, medical office staff, and resource organizations.
4) Must be comfortable and competent using Microsoft Office and possess recent experience using electronic medical records
5) Knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population
6) Knowledge of medical terminology, common laboratory orders/results, and common medical disease processes.
7) Exellent observation and problem solving skills.
8) Active listening skills and empathy.

• Must possess a degree in nursing
• Must possess an unencumbered nursing license in the State of Michigan
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
• Active driver's license and reliable transportation.
