Job Description:

This position is 100 percent travel. You will work for 40 hours with Saturdays/Sundays off. Travel will be 4-6 weeks with 1 week off at home. All Federal holidays off and paid vacation. All travel expenses paid. Benefits offered.

T4 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4) to Parsons in August 2012. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.3 billion+ contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. The mission of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is to provide the safest, most efficient aviation system in the world. In line with this mission, the FAA provides the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS)—the largest, busiest, most complex, and technologically advanced aviation operation in the world—with the infrastructure to support all air operations within the United States and certain oceanic areas.

Parsons provides the U.S. government with qualified personnel to solve the toughest engineering, intelligence, information technology, facility, environmental, and security challenges. Our staff is engaged in mission-critical, homeland security, installation/base optimization, range sustainability, space exploration, unexploded ordnance cleanup, missile defense, and disaster relief programs both domestically and around the globe. The Electrician will be responsible for various electrical installation and reconfiguration work at various FAA facilities across the nation. The Electrician will report directly to the Regional Program Manager. This person will perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation and repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Duties include but are not limited to: Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, receptacles, or other transmission equipment, Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, Using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measurement/test instruments. Secondary duties required of this position will be general installation duties such as OSHA modification installation of kick plates, mid-rails and railings.

  • 3+ years of experience in the electrical construction industry
  • 100% Travel (lodging and per diem provided).
  • High school or equivalent degree required.
  • Construction, safety, and quality training/certifications a plus
  • MS Office experience and computer proficiency required
  • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be willing to travel 100% throughout the United States and its territories
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required
  • Valid driver license and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check required
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a satisfactory DOT medical examination
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.
