What does an electrician's helper do?

This is a construction environment - working outdoors and indoors without AC or heat, in rain and sunshine. May require anything from digging a ditch to pulling wire through conduit. This job is not for someone who is looking for office work or clean bathrooms. MUST have transportation.

  • Assists ELECTRICIAN in installing and repairing wiring, fixtures, and equipment in new construction and/or renovation commercial facilities: Supplies ELECTRICIANS with materials and tools, using hand trucks, or by carrying material.
  • Measures and cuts pipe conduit to specified length, using steel tape and hacksaw.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, carry, twist, squat, bend, climb ladders, pull, push, walk and be on feet 8 hours per day.
  • Must have own basic tools to include (but not limited to) screwdrivers, tool pouch, channel locks, wire stripper, hack saw, 25' measuring tape, box cutter, sharpie, carpenter pencil, work gloves, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and work boots.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Drug free workplace - negative drug screen and background checks will be required.
  • Job locations will vary, but most are metro-Atlanta area and must be willing to drive to assigned locations as needed. E-Verify workplace
  • This is an entry level position. Experience is not necessary, but construction experience is preferred. Any electrical helpers that demonstrate great skills and hard work will be encouraged to enroll in the electrical apprenticeship program offered through trade school. (www.iecatlantaga.org)
  • Paid weekly thru temp service for a period of evaluation (2-6 weeks) to determine if formal interview will be scheduled for employment with company.
  • Opportunity to become an apprentice and get on the path to becoming a certified Journeyman Electrician.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
