Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division in Mercer and Darke Counties, in Ohio, produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production. Cooper Farms is currently seeking an Egg Transportation Manager to join our team in St Henry.

The primary goal of the Egg Transportation Manager is to coordinate all logistics within the egg division.

Job Functions

• Negotiate freight rates with carriers/3PL’s to keep rates at low as possible, while maintaining required service times.
• Schedule outbound transportation with Cooper contracted carriers as well as our customer’s carriers.
• Monitor performance of these carriers for on-time pickup/delivery and to ensure transportation objectives are met.
• Maintain a good working relationship with all carriers, customers, and 3PL’s to fulfill both their needs and Coopers.
• Communicate frequently with the processing and sales teams to assure all transportation needs are coordinated efficiently and effectively.
• Work collectively with the Egg Warehouse/Transportation manger and provide back up as needed.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries for egg division drivers

Farm packaging deliveries and egg pick ups

OTR deliveries and secure backhauls.

• Ensure that biosecurity procedures are followed and enforce all truck, trailer and material washing and sanitizing policies.
• Oversee and enforce all ODOT related regulations and company policy regarding all CDL drivers.
• Maintain a driving record in accordance with the Cooper Farms Fleet Safety Manual.

Requirements

• Minimum requirement is a 2-year degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field.
• 3 years or more experience in transportation, customer service, and supervision/management is desired.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and possess the ability to learn CAT2 & CAS.
