About the Job

In this role, the Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer performs all aspects of advanced, non-invasive echocardiographic imaging for clinical purposes under the Medical Director of the Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging Laboratory and Echo Lab Coordinator / CV Diagnostics Manager. Advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures are performed on a variety of age-specific populations including demonstrating strong proficiency in neonates and pediatrics, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart disease.

What you will do

  • Demonstrates competency in adult, pediatric and neonate cardiac ultrasound by independently performing high quality, diagnostics ultrasound studies, including routine transthoracic studies, dobutamine and tress echocardiograms and advanced studies utilizing defined department protocols. These exams are also performed according to ASE, ACC and ICAEL guidelines and standards.
  • Obtains the patient's medical history to gather data pertinent to the pending exam.
  • Verifies the appropriateness of the procedure, contacting the referring physician, if necessary, for clarification.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Here is what you will need

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate Degree
  • Specific Degree(s) Graduate of an Accredited ultrasound program which includes Echocardiography
  • 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications

Required:

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from American Heart Association (AHA) ONLY
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Other: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or
  • Other: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI as an RCS)
