Conducts research on machine learning and reinforcement learning; develops data-driven approaches; participates in project design and project management, including regular interactions with external partners and sponsors; coordinates team reviews and supports report activities; mentors graduate students; writes and publishes papers; writes proposals for research funding; presents findings to team. Performs research on characterizing the theoretical performance guarantee for various machine learning methods; and designing fast and efficient algorithms and analyzing the convergence performance of those algorithms; co-authors scientific publications and reports to sponsors; mentors graduate students.
