This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Structural Engineer for our Morristown, NJ office to be be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.

The ideal candidate will have be a recent graduate with 0 to 1 years experience.

The successful candidate may work on projects for a variety of clients including but not limited to: New Jersey Department of Transportion (NJDOT), New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA), New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT), Port Authority of NYNJ (PANYNJ); local Departments of Public Works; and a wide range of agencies and private clients within the region and beyond. The successful candidate will be based in the Morristown, New Jersey office with infrequent travel expected.

Your Impact

  • Assist more experienced engineers in broader engineering activities, assuming more responsibility as experience increases
  • Prepare basic sketches and performs calculations in support of broader engineer activities
  • Gather and record information to be used for writing specifications
  • Assist with bridge inspection field and office work
  • Prepare technical studies and reports

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree from an accredited college/university in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural engineering. Recent Masters Degree recipients are also encouraged to apply.
  • One year of relevant engineering experience through internships or equivalent working knowledge/ experience is preferred but not required
  • Requirements include a working knowledge of engineering design and practices, relevant state of the art computer program experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer in Training Certification
  • Ability to travel 20% if/when necessary.

Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Candidates must also be immediately authorized to work in the US
