Valley Village is a nonprofit organization providing services to adults with developmental disabilities. We are currently seeking to fill openings in Sylmar for Residential Aides with a

DSP Year 1 & Year 2 certification to work in a residential home setting. We have the following positions available:

  • Part time positions on Saturday and Sundays (2pm-10pm or on call positions)

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, the Residential Aide will provide training, direct care, and supervision of residents' daily needs. These positions will also be responsible for completing assigned tasks and provide hands-on assistance in completing household responsibilities and meal preparations.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of Direct Support Professional (DSP) Training Certification Year 1 and Year 2 is a mandatory requirement
  • 6 months work experience or volunteer work in a licensed health care facility or in a program that services people with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Position will require transportation of clients in the company’s vehicles; therefore, applicant must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (must be over the age of 21 yrs in order to be insured by the company’s insurance carrier).
  • All candidates must pass a physical exam, TB screening and fingerprint clearance.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekend availability
