- Provides intensive coaching to improve the classroom instructional practice of the probationary teacher.
- Collaborates with the new teacher to self-assess and identify skills and needs for professional growth and for developing a professional growth plan (PGP).
- Assists the new teacher in developing a repertoire of teaching models, methodologies, strategies, and techniques.
- Coordinates induction requirements and provides continuous and regular support to probationary teachers.
- Observes teachers during their instruction and provides feedback for their professional growth.
- Assists with instructional planning to achieve curriculum objectives and establish a positive classroom environment.
- Assists with planning and implementation of student assessments.
- Assists teachers in developing teaching strategies and techniques to achieve learning goals set by team or building.
- Assists in analyzing formal and informal data on student achievement in order to inform instructional planning.
- Facilitates communication regarding curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Assists in identification and selection of appropriate instructional materials.
- Provides relevant information from research and professional literature on best practices in instruction.
