Overview:
The Dosimetry IT Analyst is responsible for ensuring the technical requirements of the Dosimetry operation are met. The individual will be responsible for administration of the Automated Radiological Controls Management Information System (ARCMIS) including adding/removing users and user rights, troubleshooting issues, and generating reports. Individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining various laboratory specific software programs.
Additionally, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Dosimetry offices and laboratory including:
  • Troubleshooting technical issues with office and laboratory equipment.
  • Coordinating resolution of issues with EB IT and/or outside vendors.
  • Scheduling maintenance and repair of Government supplied laboratory equipment.
  • Ensuring Dosimetry operations meet the technical requirements of EB, the Navy, and the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program.
  • Coordinating on-boarding new Dosimetry personnel including computer, e-mail, ARCMIS, and laboratory software access.
  • Providing reports and data to EB, Navy, and Government entities.
  • Assisting Dosimetry personnel with various reports and tasks as needed.
  • Assisting other shipyards with issue troubleshooting and resolution.
The individual will be expected to qualify as a Signatory in our National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP), ISO 17025 accredited dosimetry program.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • 1 year of professional IT experience
  • Experience in database queries
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
Preferred:
  • 2 or more years of shipyard experience.
  • Prior experience with Radiation Health and/or Dosimetry.
  • Experience with Visual Basic.
  • Experience with writing SQL code.

  • The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter possessing strong analytical, writing, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to identify problems, discern their key elements and apply problem solving techniques and skills to achieve prompt and effective resolutions is an essential skill set.
  • The ability to communicate clearly, professionally and be comfortable interfacing directly with varied levels of management both verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy in a schedule driven multi-tasking environment.
