JOB DESCRIPTION

The individual will develop and lead business strategies and implementation for the company by analyzing market and commercial data, understanding the latest technology advances, and identifying emerging markets in the grid of the future domain.

Grid of the Future areas of interest include but are not limited to: renewable energy sources, energy storage, micro-grids, smart-grids, distribution solutions and services, and two-way flow of energy and information. The individual must have commercial experience and be proficient in ideating, designing, and implementing process, product, and service solutions.

This individual must also have project management skills that include managing ambiguity and complexity while focusing on key deliverables and stakeholder expectations.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expand knowledge to further learn preferences, challenges, and trends in the grid of the future domain and make recommendations for business directions within the company.
  • Create and articulate cohesive strategies for the company’s business approach in the domain.
  • Sustain activity with key industry organizations and participate in industry meetings.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and external players including research institutions, startup companies, partners, and customers.
  • Identify and support developing new processes, products, and services in the grid of the future domain.
  • Understand existing efforts, manage the business’s new activities, and effectively communicate across business units.
  • Apply entrepreneurial mindset, startup experience, and managing ambiguity to build ideas from ideation to commercialization stages.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy/Electrical Engineering or other related Disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience in grid of the future (renewables, micro-grids, energy storage, distribution solutions, or two-way flow of energy and information).
  • Must have a combination of entrepreneurial mindset and startup experience.
  • Must possess leadership skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Must be able to work well in teams with product development and product management.
  • Must have strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing ambiguity.
