Doggy Daycare Attendant - All Shifts (ST) Job at Pets a Go Go LLC

Pets a Go Go LLC Stamford, CT 06906

IMMEDIATE NEED / PART TIME OR FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Are you one of us...?

Do you *LOVE* dogs?

Hate desks?

Don't mind weather of any kind?

Are you a reliable person?

Do you have a positive attitude?

Are you blessed with lots of common sense and problem solving skills?

Do you look cute with a poop bag in your hand?

Do you LOOOOOVE dogs? (Wait, sorry -- asked that one already!)

If so, you may be in luck! Pets a Go Go is a well established and highly reputable pet care company located in both Briarcliff Manor, NY and Stamford, CT and we are currently seeking a few new awesome team members to join us at our state of the art facility on the Stamford/Darien border.

To apply for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

* You must be 18 years or older (insurance requirement)

* You must be punctual, reliable and willing to work in all weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain and snow.

* You MUST be available a minimum of 20 hours per week consistently.

* You MUST have a driver's license and either live close enough to walk or have exclusive access to a working vehicle.

Daytime staff typically start at either 7am, 9am or Noon for 8-12 hours with a mid-shift break, 365 days a year. Shorter (5 hour) shifts may be available for an exceptionally qualified person. Overnight staff work either 7pm-7am or 9:30pm-7:30am depending on responsibilities and the time of year. This is a great position for students or others who have another job and are looking to make additional income. There is significant room for growth; however, more senior roles are typically full-time and require both a background check and a urine drug test (please ask!). We also staff overnight from either 7pm-7am or 9:30pm-7:30am (depending on the time of year) and as cage-free boarding reservations require. Weekend and rotational holiday availability is an absolute must for all positions in our company.

* You must be a self-starter, equipped with an abundance of common sense, and able to work on your own without micro-management after a period of paid in-house training.

* You must have a smart phone, access to the internet and be able to send and receive texts. You must be able to leave your personal cell phone in your locker to focus on the job and the pups that are in your charge.

* You must LOVE dogs and not have any breed aversions/fears!!!! You must be able to act quickly to assess and/or interrupt on the rare occasional that the pups in our care are not getting along. You must be able to stand for the majority of your shift since the more active and engaged you are, the more the pups will be happy and tired.

Preference will be given to those who have professional experience. Being the main caretaker for a dog throughout their life during your adult years is important as well but cannot substitute for professional experience. Previous experience working with bully breeds or a fearful/dog reactive dog is a HUGE plus. Documented volunteer experience will always be considered as well.

Our pay is the most competitive in the industry and will include comprehensive training/continuing education and benefits. Driving positions include access to a company vehicle and a corporate smart phone. We operate on a hands-on basis meaning you will be working with both large and small dogs in appropriately sized groups and both indoors and outdoors on a rotational basis. This is largely a walking and standing type of position to help the pups to understand your position as the alpha. Please be aware that while overnight staff may rest once the pups are 'down' for the night, there is a checklist of cleaning and organization duties that must be accomplished each evening before you retire and you must be able to intervene or help intervene in the overnight hours if needed.

We're a fun bunch to work with and our team members love their positions within our company! We do NOT allow members of our team to have their personal dogs attend daycare or stay over while they are on duty; however, in-house services may be provided at an employee discount when you are not on duty. Please remember above all, for us pet care is a business so we expect our team to be professional and committed to their jobs at all times.

To apply for this position, please email or reply with the following: your name, what town you reside in along with your previous experience (professional and volunteer) with dogs. We'd also like to know why you think you'd be a good fit for our team and anything else you think is pertinent for us to know about you in a cover letter! Resumes and photos are always appreciated.

To repeat, this is a starting position. We prefer to promote from within so upward mobility can and frequently does occur depending on someone's initiative and reliability and can be possible quite quickly. Please feel free to visit our website at petsagogo.com to learn more about our company and the Join The Paw Squad page to learn more about the roles we are looking to fill.

Looking forward to meeting our newest team members soon!
