SUMMARY

The Distribution Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day shipping and receiving operations. They will oversee shipping, receiving, and tracking of products. Develop work schedules as needed, compile reports as needed, implements workspace layout, and expedites the workflow to meet business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:

• Distribution Supervisor oversees the shipping, receiving, and tracking of product.
• Manages work schedules and expedites workflow.
• Supervises the day-to-day operations of the shipping and receiving area.
• Develops and implements workspace layout to accommodate inventory, manufacturing, shipping, and receiving.
• Ensures adequate and regular inventory physical counts.
• Monitors and records daily incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Maintains time and shipping/receiving records and prepares material requisitions.
• Ensures warehouse is supplied with necessary shop/packaging materials and tools to ship product to meet customers’ required delivery dates.
• The Distribution Supervisor addresses safety concerns and initiates workload adjustments.
• Compiles reports regarding receiving/shipping schedule and performance.
• Recommends measures to improve shipping/receiving measures, equipment and procedural performance.
• Works with other departments within business unit to guarantee that their customer orders are handled in an efficient, timely manner and all delivery requirements are met satisfactorily.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
The Distribution Supervisor supervises assigned personnel. Sets work procedures, priorities, levels of responsibility, and objectives for assigned program(s). Assigns and directs work. Determines the means, methods, and materials for performing work. Plans the work operation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree and 3 years related experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• The Distribution Supervisor has the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings and technical descriptions.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and must be able to use an inventory system, word processing software, internet software.
• Interpersonal skills; patience; problem solving skills; attention to detail; organization skills; accuracy; time management; basic math skills; interpret customer purchase order requirements.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
